| ANALOGUE PHOTOGRAPHY Some consider the role of film in the realm of photography as a dying breed. It isn't as convenient as going digital. It's more expensive to develop film than ever before. Even Kodak laid its most famous Kodachrome to rest. But for me, it is alive. It's ever-changing, variable, sometimes even unreliable, but it's tricks are magic. The excitement of seeing your pictures for the first time, experimenting with the processes of capturing the image and manipulating the development, it opens doors to the unimaginable. Even Photoshop can't recreate with any authenticity the magic of the unknown. For me, the experimental aspect of photography is what draws me back time and time again. Sure I love my film, but there is a time and a place for everything. In my life and in my travels, my cameras go everywhere with me. Some places are so majestic, a moment so captivating, that it should not and cannot be adultured. My goal with photography is to try to capture those fleeting moments and share my view point with other. It is my belief that few of us ever see things the same way. What may be wonderful to some, often goes unnoticed by others. To document these opportunities that the universe affords us and give back something beautiful in return is my intention with these photographs. |
